The contract is with a JV between the government of Botswana and De Beers for the Jwaneng Cut 8 mining project. The current open pit mine is being expanded to greater depths, and the project includes relocating and rebuilding parts of existing surface infrastructure. The Cut 8 project alone will generate employment for approximately 1,400 Botswana citizens supported by Fluor’s Johannesburg, South Africa office.
